Parking Instructions 2013

Welcome to RTTW 2013.

Access to Croxhall Rd and the National Memorial Arboretum will be limited to Motorcycles attending the event and vehicles that have been issued with official passes.

All other vehicles will be directed to the Catton Hall Park and Ride area where regular buses with full disabled facilities will be available to transport everyone to the NMA to attend the RTTW service. Please plan your journey to allow time for the transfer ride to the NMA.

DRAYTON MANOR RIDE

The ride arriving from Drayton Manor will be directed to onsite parking. Parking Marshals (Blue vests) will direct you into the NMA main gate and across the car park to the back gate adjacent to the Far East Memorial.

The areas being used for parking are:

  • Millennium Avenue between the end of Yeomanry Avenue, Falklands Memorial and the POW Memorial. Note, NO vehicles are to be parked on Millennium Avenue between the end of Yeomanry Avenue and the NMA main building
  • Yeomanry Avenue
  • Gifford Avenue

The Flag Party will be directed to Millennium Avenue and parked up on the side nearest the Armed Forces Memorial first. All other riders please follow the marshal’s directions and make the best use of the limited space available to us. Please use both sides of the Avenues.

Please be aware of pedestrians and other moving vehicles while riding inside the NMA grounds.

The NMA maximum speed limit is 5mph. Please ride with care and respect.

While the Parking Marshals are there to guide and assist you in parking, please remember that you as an individual are responsible for your own safety and that of your vehicle.

In the event of a situation that may require the Emergency Services, please contact the nearest Parking Marshal (Blue Vest) or NMA member of staff who will contact the Event Control Office.

After the service, please make you own way to the exit for your parking area, Remember Maximum speed 5mph. Please ride with care and respect and be aware of Pedestrians and other vehicles. Marshals will be at the exits to assist you in joining Croxhall Road and to make your exit as smooth as possible. Please be patient as the exits will be very congested.

Routes 2 to 8

All the RTTW routes leaving from the motorway service areas and the "A road" start point for 2013 will once again see us using the offsite parking area for this year’s RTTW. This area is located approximately 150m past the main NMA entrance and on the left hand side of Croxhall Road.

The parking area is a grassed field, (Don’t forget your side stand puck) with a smooth, firm surface. Please be aware of the surface conditions on the day and ride in a manor suitable for these conditions. RIDE SLOW, BE SAFE.

The entrance gate is on the left hand side of Croxhall Rd opposite the Lafarge site entrance, and will be the main access point for motorcycles before the RTTW service, and the main exit point for motorcycles after the RTTW service.

The second gate is located at the far end of the field by the railway crossing. If you are planning to leave before the service please advise the parking marshals and park at the far end and use this gate to exit the field in order to avoid disrupting the incoming flow of traffic. Emergency vehicles will use this gate to enter and leave the parking field.

Traffic flow for the field entrance, before the RTTW service, will be ONE WAY ONLY into the parking area. After the RTTW service, traffic flow will be ONE WAY ONLY, out of the parking area. Please note that Croxhall Rd will still be 2-way traffic, please do not obstruct oncoming traffic especially when leaving the event.

On arrival at the NMA, you will be directed by the Parking Marshals (Blue Vests) to the offsite parking area where the marshals will guide you across the field to be parked up. Please be aware of pedestrians moving across the field to and from the main gate.

Once parked up, please leave the field by the main gate. Please be aware of vehicles moving across the field.

If any riders have mobility problems and need to park at the top end of the field, please pull over and indicate this to the marshals (without obstructing the flow of traffic please).A shuttle service will be provided to the NMA main entrance should you need it.

While the Parking Marshals are there to guide and assist you in parking, please remember that you, as an individual are responsible for your own safety and that of your vehicle.

The NMA site has a Maximum speed limit of 5mph; this also applies to the offsite parking area.

In the event of a situation that may require the Emergency Services, please contact the nearest Parking Marshal (Blue Vest), who will contact the Event control Office.

Ride Safe, and with Respect. Enjoy the day.
